Our Resources

Learning and educational support

Many children need extra support with learning,
communication and development, but good resources can be hard to find.

Hope-hear has curated trusted educational and health-related resources for children, families, teachers and healthcare workers. This section links to high-quality educational content for children of all ages, including curriculum support and enrichment material.

Resources for adults supporting traumatised children

Many children experience trauma, and adults may not always know how to help. Hope-hear has curated trusted resources to help parents, teachers and healthcare workers understand trauma, respond with care, and support children’s recovery, learning and wellbeing.

Healthy Development Resources

Hope-hear provides carefully chosen, practical resources to help parents and professionals understand what different concerns may mean, what options are available, and when to ask for help. Our resources are designed to support early identification, decision-making, referral and care planning, so that children can move more easily from concern, to assessment, to appropriate support.

The information is created by an ENT specialist with experience in childhood development and is presented in a simple, accessible way. As a non-profit company, Hope-hear does not benefit from recommending unnecessary tests, treatments or services. This means families and professionals can trust that the information is created to support children’s wellbeing, communication, learning and development.

Our goal is simple: to help parents feel less alone, professionals feel better supported, and children receive the right help as early as possible.

Music is important for babies and small children

md_yuwbpu_b6b61d07e8ef00a3b192fef4efdb393ba494223e

When babies and children listen to music, sing, clap, dance, or play instruments, their brains become more active. Music can help children learn new words, remember things, concentrate, move their bodies, and feel happier. It can also help children become more confident, creative, kind, and cooperative. Making music is especially powerful because it uses many parts of the brain at the same time. Even simple music at home or school can help children learn and grow.

The African Lullaby project emerged out of a desire to expand on the rich heritage of African folklore and create unique content for children (and parents) which is representative of the African culture. This compilation was assembled by team Platoon Africa in conjunction with some exceptional South African voices.
